Upload Files
Page Updated: 10 Nov 2025
Attach documents and images to give Crafty AI more context. Uploaded files are parsed and their text is made available to your chat.
Steps
- Open Crafty AI and sign in for best results.
- Click the + button to the left of the input to open Attachments.
- Choose Add Files to select a file from your device, or choose Capture to take a screenshot.
- Wait for the upload to finish. An attachment chip appears above the input and a file message is added to the chat.
- Type your question (e.g., “Summarise this PDF”) and press Enter.
What happens after upload
- Files are stored securely and parsed to extract text for context.
- Screenshots are saved like images; images and small videos may be parsed with vision to extract visible text.
- Large files may upload directly to cloud storage (presigned). This is automatic.
- If parsing completes after your send, Crafty can still use the text on your next message.
Managing files
- To remove everything later, go to Settings > Data and use Delete All Files.
- Storage limits: Apprentice ≈ 1 GB, Craftsman ≈ 5 GB.
Tip: Keep prompts specific (e.g., “Extract action items from the attached meeting notes”).
